Inventor

The Inventor file type refers to files created by Autodesk Inventor, a 3D CAD software widely used for mechanical design, product modeling, and simulation. These files are native to Inventor and include rich information about parts, assemblies, and drawings.

Extensions

Supported:

• .ipt (Part files)

  • Used for creating individual parts

  • Parametric modeling: Modify size and shape using constraints and dimensions

  • Single-body parts fit into assemblies; multi-body parts can be split

• .iam (Assembly files)

  • Combine parts & sub-assemblies with joints and constraints
